Presentations to, or Requests for the Commission
"Delegation" is the term used to define the process whereby an individual or individuals appear before the North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission in order to make a presentation or request.
The process to be followed when delegation requests are received is as follows:
- Requests will initially be considered by the Director who will determine if the request can be dealt with by staff.
- Matters that cannot be resolved by the Director may then be taken to a meeting of the Commission with the approval of the Chair. Requests to appear before the Commission must be made in writing at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting.
- A written statement outlining the presentation content must be presented at the time of the request to appear at a meeting.
- Delegations will be provided up to 10 minutes to make their presentation, followed by questions and comments from Commissioners, if any.
The Commission will ordinarily take the presentation under advisement and may take action after due deliberation, usually at a subsequent meeting.
If circumstances warrant, the Chair may allow a delegation to appear before the Commission without prior notice. In these cases, delegations will generally be restricted to five-minute presentations.
The Chair and the Director will inform the Commission of requests for delegations that have been resolved or denied.
