All facilities are open and NVRC continues to provide a range of activities and programs in line with current provincial safety guidelines. Responding to Step 3 is very exciting for NVRC and we continue to work diligently to plan, prepare and increase our service levels. Our restart will be gradual. We will offer as much as we can as soon as we are able.
To enter a facility customers must book a visit in advance for all activities (except for fitness centre sessions) or be registered in a program.
As of July 1, masks are recommended in all public indoor settings for everyone 12 years of age and older who are not fully vaccinated (14 days have passed since receiving a second dose)

- Summer programs - We are increasing the number of participants in existing programs. Use the Find a program & Book a visit tool to view current options
- Current “Book a Visit” services (except fitness centre sessions from July 19) still require advance registration - this includes indoor and outdoor fitness classes, public swim, lane swimming, team sports sessions and court bookings. These ‘visits’ can be searched using the Find a program & Book a visit tool
Fitness centres are open and public swim, lane swimming, master swim and public skate are available. Capacity for fitness centres and public swim will be increased to pre-circuit breaker levels from July 12, 2021. All visits to a facility must be booked in advance. You can book a visit for these sessions from 9am on the Monday, one week before the session. When a statutory holiday falls on a Monday, registration for the following week is on Tuesdays. You can do this online or by calling 604-987-7529.
Fitness Centre Drop-ins
Starting July 19 customers can drop-in to work out without booking a visit in advance. This applies only to fitness centres (weight rooms).
Key changes are:
• No advance registration to book a fitness centre visit will be needed, registration will no longer be required one week before
• Customers with a membership will need to pick up their card from any of our front desks
• Membership cards must be scanned in order to enter the fitness centres
• Drop ins can be purchased at any of our front desks
• Masks are recommended in public indoor settings for everyone 12 years of age and older who are not fully vaccinated (14 days have passed since receiving a second dose)
• As of July 19, there are no time limits in the fitness centres
Note all other ‘visits’ currently still require advance registration, this includes indoor and outdoor fitness classes, public swim, lane swimming, team sports sessions and court bookings.
We are currently working to bring back enough qualified aquatic staff to accommodate more swimmers and provide drop-in access. More information will be posted on the website and social media as details and dates are confirmed.
Can’t make your pre-booked visit?
Please remember to cancel so others can sign up for the spot.
We know plans can change. So if you are unable to attend your pre-booked visits for fitness centres, fitness classes, swimming and skating, we ask that you please cancel online as soon as you know you can’t attend. This will free up your spot for others who want to get active.
You can cancel a visit online and we ask that you cancel as early as possible (at least 24 hours in advance) so we can provide the spot to someone on the waitlist. Visit the registration support page to watch a how-to cancel video.

Fitness Centre Sessions, Individual Fitness Classes and Public Sessions
These activities are now termed 'visits', previously these were 'drop-ins'. NVRC is not currently offering drop-ins. Our standard refund policy applies with the following temporary exception during the COVID-19 pandemic: If you are not able to attend the program due to sickness, as long as you cancel prior to the start of the class, a full refund will be provided. Please contact NVRC at 604-987-7529 before the start of the class so another community member can take part.
If the class is cancelled NVRC will contact you one hour prior to the class. Please ensure your account has a phone number you can be reached at. Call NVRC at 604 987 7529 to update your details.
