This year marks the 10th annual NSDRC live gala event which has raised over $250,000 to reduce barriers and increase accessibility for the over 20,000 North Shore residents living with a disability.

Colin Mochrie is an award-winning Canadian actor, comedian, and writer. Colin has played many roles in film and TV, but is best known for his ongoing role on the hit improvisational TV show, Whose Line is it Anyway? Deb McGrath is an award-winning Canadian comedian, actor, and writer who started her career at SCTV in the 1980’s and has since starred in many  film and TV roles including playing Mayor Popowitcz on the hugely popular Little Mosque on the Prairie

The NSDRC believes in building an inclusive community, where people of all abilities have fewer barriers and more opportunities to live fulfilling lives and make valuable contributions to their communities.

All proceeds raised are used by the NSDRC Information & Advocacy Program to assist children, youth & adults with disabilities, their families and their community, in navigating around the barriers they face for accessing healthcare, housing, and services. The NSDRC provides services to North Shore people with disabilities, regardless of age or disability.

People with disabilities now make up the world’s largest minority group. With over one billion members worldwide (and growing), funds raised from this event will assist the NSDRC in continuing to ensure that the one in six Canadians with a disability have their voices heard.
