With their unique, enchanting fusion of folk, traditional, rock and new world elements, SKERRYVORE—comprised of eight multi-talented band members from diverse areas all over Scotland—are now on a meteoric journey since their debut as a ceilidh band on the remote Hebridean Isle of Tiree. In just a few years of international touring, and 6 albums with innovative chart-smashing hits, the group is widely acknowledged as Scotland’s most promising young band and one of the country’s top musical ambassadors.

The band marked their 10th anniversary in 2015 with the Decade concert at Mossfield Stadium, Oban. After selling 3,000 tickets in 90 minutes, capacity was increased to accommodate an audience of 6,000 from all over the world, and SKERRYVORE was joined numerous musical guests including the legendary Dougie MacLean and renowned Irish musician Sharon Shannon.

The phenomenal Decade concert led to the creation of the band’s own annual festival, Oban Live that has now attracted over 12,000 attendees to enjoy international acts that have included KT Tunstall, We Banjo 3, Julie Fowlis (a past CeltFest instructor) and Capercaillie alongside SKERRYVORE.

The band’s 2017 song Live Forever provided the soundtrack for the Visit Scotland campaign ‘Wild About Argyll’ and became No.1 Single Hit on the iTunes World Music chart, making them a household name on their home turf, and propelling the Live Forever Tour of over 70 shows in the UK, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Netherlands and the United States.

The 2018 launch of SKERRYVORE’s 6th studio album was accompanied by a global tour that included a headline performance at the renowned Tonder Festival, Denmark, and their first ever Canadian venues— two only—including Victoria, BC.

SKERRYORE’s fall 2019 return to BC will include a first-ever appearance in Vancouver and a return Victoria and will be among the first to kick off their 360 World Tour.

“A spectacular mix of traditional Scottish folk music and the most diverse rock elements.” – Süddeutsche Zeitung, GERMANY
