An All-Slavic array of the finest and most familiar music from Eastern Europe and beyond will feature incredible treats by Dvorak, Chopin, Enescu, and Bartok. We will team up with Lions Gate Youth Orchestra for our final Side-by-Side of the year, performing Marches, Mazurkas, Polonaises, Slavonic Dances, and more. A hidden treasure we will reveal is a newly discovered brilliant Baroque Symphony by Maxim Berezovsky, known as “The Ukrainian Mozart!” Vancouver’s brilliant Cellist Joseph Elworthy will perform the exquisite Rococo Variations by Tchaikovsky, who loved Mozart, and had strong Ukrainian roots! Our instrumental version of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ will close the season with our community prayer for warmth and joy.
