Programs & Safety During COVID-19

Program & Activity Suspensions

On Thursday, December 3, 2020, the Provincial Health Officer announced new COVID-19 restrictions for the Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions.  In response to the orders, NVRC is suspending certain programs and sessions until further notice.  For a list of suspended activities and those still running, visit the What is Open and Closed page.

Mask Requirements

Customers are required to wear a face mask in all common areas in NVRC facilities, including lobbies, hallways and washrooms and some programs and activities. Customers are also encouraged to wear masks during their program or activity. We recognize it’s not feasible to wear a mask in the pool. Read more on our health & safety page.

Updated Fitness Centre Mask Protocol – April 2021

Wearing a mask is now required at all times while exercising indoors by order of the Provincial Health Officer.  This includes while exercising on cardio equipment. In addition, participants are required to keep 3m away from each other when they are moving around in the fitness centre space.

People who are unable to wear a mask due to a health condition or a physical, cognitive or mental impairment, and people who are unable to put on or remove a mask without the assistance of another person are exempt from mask requirements. People who are unable to wear a mask must maintain at least 3m distance at all times when in the facility.
