Facility closure and service updates

North Vancouver Community Recreation Centres and Centennial Theatre are closed.

North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) together with the City and District of North Vancouver made the decision to close facilities on March 16, 2020 in order to lower the risk of transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The facility closures were  aligned with recommendations from public health authorities to lower the risk of exposure and spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Modified Registered Outdoor Programs

NVRC is now offering new, outdoor classes in various parks and plazas across North Vancouver. Classes include registered outdoor fitness, sports, tennis, arts and other fun activities for all ages and families and will incorporate public health and safety measures.  Over 50 different outdoor classes will be held each week from low and high interval fitness classes and yoga to sketching in nature and family dance and fun in the park.

Fitness Centres

Fitness Centres at Delbrook, Harry Jerome and Parkgate will re-open from August 5, 2020.

NVRC is excited to partially re-open 3 fitness centres. Spaces will be a little different with safety measures and physical distancing in place, but we are really looking forward to welcoming the community back. Read more on our fitness centre page.

Pottery Studios

The pottery studio at Parkgate Community Centre will partially re-open on August 5, 2020 and the pottery studio at Delbrook Community Recreation Centre will partially re-open on August 6, 2020.

Studio time is available to customers who have experience in the studio and have held a membership in 2020. These registrations are being done by phone to allow NVRC staff to confirm customers’ studio experience. Camps are being offered for children and will take place in the Arts & Crafts room. Read more on our pottery page.

North Vancouver Tennis Centre

The North Vancouver Tennis Centre is now open. Adult and junior tennis programs are now available for registration and court bookings are available. Read more on the summer tennis programs page.

It will be a gradual process and it will take time to implement new protocols to ensure the health and safety of our staff and customers. Please refer to the COVID-19 website section to read more about summer programs. Information is also available for customers regarding program and fitness memberships refunds.
