All North Vancouver Community Recreation Centres, North Vancouver Tennis Centre and Centennial Theatre are closed.
North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) together with the City and District of North Vancouver made the decision to close facilities in order to lower the risk of transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The facility closures are aligned with the recent recommendation from Vancouver Coastal Health 's Medical Health Officer to close public facilities in order to lower the risk of exposure and spread of COVID-19 in our community.
All winter programs (operating up until the end of March 2020) are cancelled and customers will receive a pro-rated refund for the classes missed due to the closures.
We are also cancelling all spring programs that run between the end of March and the end of June and we will be providing full refunds to all registrants.
NVRC staff will process all program refunds automatically.
You do not need to call in as we are unable to process refunds over the telephone in this situation.
We are working hard to process all program refunds as quickly as possible. We hope you can understand and appreciate the enormity of this task and that it will take some time to complete. Staff are working diligently and we thank you for your patience.
Your refund will be based on your method of payment. Once processed, you will receive confirmation via email for each client in each course.
- For online and phone registrations your payment will be refunded directly to your credit card originally used to pay for the registration.
- For those registrations made in person (paid by cash, debit, credit card or cheque) a credit will be placed on your account. If you would like to have your credit paid out to you, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and a cheque will be mailed to the account address as soon as possible.
All Fitness Memberships will be extended to cover the amount of time the facilities are closed. The additional time will be added to the memberships once NVRC facilities have re-opened. If fitness members wish to cancel their membership at this time, they will receive a pro-rated refund as of March 16, 2020.
Our call centre at 604-987-PLAY (7529) remains open during the closures with reduced staffing and our staff are available to process your fitness membership refunds. We may experience higher than normal call volume and we ask for your patience as our reduced work force strives to provide the best service we can during this time.
Full Day Spring Break Camps Refunds
NVRC is making an exception to our standard withdrawal policies for customers who previously cancelled their spring break camps registrations due to concerns regarding the coronavirus. Customers who were charged the 50% cancellation fee as the cancellation was within seven days of the camp start date, are eligible for the 50% charged to be refunded as a credit on their account. Please contact NVRC at 604 987 PLAY (7529) for this to be processed and the account place on your account.
