NVRC Artist Residency Program Call for Artists

North Vancouver Recreation and Culture's (NVRC) Artist Residency program provides unique opportunities for emerging and established artists from various disciplines, cultures and life experiences to create and produce new works of art or develop existing artistic projects. The program provides staff and marketing support, financial support, and space in a community recreation centre, field house or the Centennial Theatre. Residencies can be as short as six weeks and as long as six months with varying schedules. Those accepted to the program are expected to engage with the community in the development of their work through a short performance, workshop or an artist talk. To learn more please visit nvrc.ca/ArtistResidencyProgram. Artists must be legally eligible to work in Canada, be from Metro Vancouver, or live or work in North Vancouver, provide a clear police information check and hold liability insurance. Please contact us to discuss this in further detail.

Application deadline: Monday, January 19, 2026 at 4:00pm

NVRC's artist residency program is built on the understanding and recognition that what is colonially known as North Vancouver is located on the traditional, unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Squamish Nation, and səlilwətaɬ Tsleil-Waututh Nation. The Nations' oral histories, arts and culture practices, and deep relationships with the lands and waters are respected, as are their current day experiences and cultural, environmental, and economic contributions. In our work, we affirm the importance of working to build better relationships and futures with local First Nations and all Indigenous Peoples. If you require information or a different way of applying, please email us at artistresidencies@nvrc.ca and we will be happy to work with you.
