Want to leave your mark on the ice? Now’s your chance! NVRC is getting two brand-new electric Zambonis (ice resurfacing machines) and we need your help to give them names that are as cool as they are!
What's happening?
We’ve got two shiny new Zambonis arriving soon – one for Karen Magnussen Community Recreation Centre and one to be used in the new Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre when it opens next year. These machines will scrape, clean and smooth the ice so that our skaters have a perfect skating surface.
These aren’t just any Zambonis, they’re electric, meaning they’re fast, clean and totally green! So we need creative names that are as awesome as they are.
Who can enter?
This contest is open to all kids ages 5 to 12 who live in North Vancouver.
How do I enter?
It’s as easy as 1-2-3! Just follow these steps:
- Get your parent or guardian’s permission to enter the contest.
- Think up the perfect name for one of our new Zambonis.
- Fill out the online entry form - We are no longer accepting submissions.
One entry per person so make it count! The deadline to enter is September 28, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
When will the winners be announced?
We'll announce the winners and winning names on our website and social media in October 2025.
What do the winners get?
In addition to having their winning name printed on the side of one of the Zambonis, each winner will get a one-month child Active Pass plus five swim/skate passes to share with friends along with some NVRC goodies!
Ready to name the coolest Zambonis ever? Start brainstorming and send in your entry!
