The elevator at John Braithwaite Community Centre is currently out of service due to an electrical issue. The elevator will not be available until further notice while repairs are completed.

Mezzanine and 2nd-floor spaces accessible by stairs only

Customers who require elevator access will not be able to access the Mezzanine and 2nd Floor during this service disruption. This includes the Fitness Centre, Harbourview Room, Family Resource Centre, Multipurpose Room, Art Studio, Meeting Room 3 and Seniors Program Office.

Accessible gymnasium access via parkade elevator

Customers who require elevator access can still access the gymnasium through the parkade elevator.

Please check in at the front desk upon arrival. From there, take the exterior elevator on West 1st Street to the parkade level. Building Services staff will be available to assist with access to the gymnasium.

Repair timeline

At this time, we do not have an estimated timeline for repairs. Our maintenance team is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Updates will be posted as they become available.
