AMPS X: Honeybear, the Band & Big Easy Funk Ensemble (Rock/Funk)

Honeybear, the Band is a Vancouver BC based soul, blues & roots quartet, taking you on an old school road trip through the dusty back roads of American music. Honeybear's debut EP released in March 2024 has over 2 million streams on Spotify, and counting.

Formed in East Van, the vibrant musical hub of Vancouver, the Big Easy Funk Ensemble is a band that pays homage to the rich musical traditions of New Orleans while infusing their own distinct West Coast flavour. Founded on a shared passion for the diverse sounds that have emerged from the heart of Louisiana, the ensemble brings to life the infectious rhythms and soulful melodies that define the New Orleans sound.

AMPS XI: Melanie Dekker & Best Lunch (Pop)

Melanie Dekker (Deep Cove, BC) is a roots-pop sensation with a voice like chocolate. Her Dutch background grabs you with an easy going, quirky & energized style.

Best Lunch is a group of experienced and talented musicians who hope to seriously have fun while making amazing music. The band is influenced by Jazz, Rock, and RnB, and plays original music written by their vocalist, Teresa Marie.

AMPS Unplugged: Niki Kennedy & Jennipher Shillings (Roots)
Wed, March 4, 2026 (7-9pm)

Born and raised in Aotearoa New Zealand, Niki Kennedy is a Pasifika singer, songwriter, and musician based in Vancouver. Anchored by feel-good grooves and emotive melodies, she blurs roots, soul, and pop sensibilities to offer honest storytelling with heart.

Rooted in her love of folk music and championing her African roots, Jennipher Shillings delivers lyrically grounded performances infused with rich melodies and powerful storytelling. As an intentional lyricist, her songs are raw, introspective, and emotionally resonant.

AMPS Unplugged: Chris Dietrich & Jesse Waldman (Blues)

Chris Dietrich is a highly skilled and charismatic singer-songwriter whose distinctive sound effortlessly blends soft rock and easy-listening melodies. His ability to craft original songs that resonate deeply with listeners, while also reimagining beloved classics, sets him apart as an artist who truly connects with his audience.

A staple of the East Van music scene, Jesse Waldman’s bluesy, roots-driven sound reflects his deep connection to the city and its diverse culture. His songs tell stories of the streets, people, and places that define Vancouver’s creative heart.

AMPS XII: Colin Sankey & Savonarola (Funk)
Wed, May 6, 2026  (7-9pm)

Colin Sankey is a bassist, composer, and arranger from Vancouver, BC. His compositions seamlessly merge Jazz with funk, Latin, and rock music, creating a toe-tapping fusion with lush harmonies and blazing improvisations.

Savonarola is a rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia formed in 2017 by guitarist/vocalist Jeff Baker and bassist Rune Mikkelsen. Drummer Tio Zeke joined the band in 2023 to complete the current power trio line up. Since its formation, Savonarola has played original music exclusively, spanning electric to acoustic while blending soul, punk and jazz elements into their sound.
