Job Duties:
- Provides swim instruction to individuals of all ages and skill levels
- Lifeguards in a pool environment ensuring the safety and enjoyment of patrons using the facility
- Promote a safe and inclusive aquatic environment
- Calmly and diplomatically navigate customer complaints and requests for information/support
- Deliver effective, engaging aquatic programs to community groups
- Administer first aid when required
- Monitor water chemistry and assist with pool maintenance
- Keep pool areas, decks, and change rooms clean and orderly Respond to facility emergencies, taking direction from supervisor on-duty
Certification Requirements:
- Standard First Aid current within 2 years
- CPR-C current within 1 year
- National Lifeguard Pool Option (NLP) current within two (2) years
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor current within two (2) years
- Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) current within 2 years

- Responsible for providing safety patrols of the ice and building, first aid as well as supporting special events and games during public skating sessions while delivering excellent customer service experience to the patrons.
- You are an excellent communicator with a positive and enthusiastic attitude that works to create a fun, safe environment in the arenas for both children and adults of all abilities.
- Duties also include rental skate maintenance and supporting skating lessons.
- Qualifications: Standard First Aid Certification and good skating ability. Coaching or refereeing experience and skate sharpening experience is preferred.

- Responsible for planning and leading a group of children and/or adults in a series of ice skate lessons.
- You are experienced in planning and teaching structured skating lessons; preparing evaluation sheets and writing progress cards; and setting up equipment needed for lessons.
- Qualifications: Candidates must have current Standard First Aid and have HIGH FIVE Certification or obtain HIGH FIVE certification within 3 months of hire. Teaching/instructing experience, NCCP certification or, other skate instructing courses are considered an asset.

- Delivers excellent customer service by providing fitness testing and weight room orientation for facility users by promoting interest and participation in fitness activities while ensuring maintenance and safe use of weight room equipment.
- Qualifications, desirable training and experience: Ability to evaluate an individual's fitness levels, develop individual weight training and fitness programs, and provide advice, guidance and referral services relative to health, fitness and wellness matters. Completion of a university program and related experience in a Fitness Centre, rehabilitation or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Required Certification: Standard First Aid Certificate or equivalent, CPR Certificate - Level A, BCRPA Registered Personal Trainer or approved equivalent and a valid Class 5 BC driver's license.

- This public contact work at a community facility involves the performance of a variety of routine tasks to assist patrons, greeting customers and doing a pass check.
- Address customer questions and concerns while being able to respond quickly, calmly and efficiently to emergency situations
- Requirements: Superior customer service and strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of basic fitness centre etiquette and experience using a fitness centre is an asset, Emergency First Aid certification or equivalent and CPR Level A

- Perform cashiering, clerical and receptionist duties in our recreation facility front offices.
- Deliver excellent front line customer experiences by providing information to the public, providing program registration.
- Qualifications: Responsible and detail minded with a high level of interpersonal and problem solving skills. You enjoy working with a diverse group of people, excellent at building relationships and embrace change and challenges.
- Previous customer service experience and training and cash handling experience is desirable. Knowledge of recreation registration software, MS Excel and Word would also be beneficial.

- A courteous and effective team player committed to community who not only loves to coordinate and participate in recreational program activities but is skilled at crafts, arts and other related activities.
- You have sound knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of organized community recreation for preschool children along with working knowledge of applicable policies, regulations and rules governing the work performed.
- Ability to perform administrative work related to Preschool programs, ensure required standards of safety are maintained.
- Certifications: Must have current ECE and Emergency Childcare First Aid (or higher) & CPR-C.

- A valuable role in supporting and developing a child’s skills for success in a licensed preschool setting, and leading the implementation of an individual support plan.
- Responsible for preparing monthly reports and attending meetings.
- Qualifications and requirements: Have a sound knowledge of the principles, practices, and objectives of organized community recreation along with working knowledge of applicable policies, regulations and rules governing the work performed. Delivers excellent customer experiences by working closely and cooperatively with parents, preschool teachers and other staff.
- Certifications: Current ECE certification or an approved alternate training/certification with a focus on supporting child development and inclusion. Emergency Childcare First Aid (or higher) & CPR-C.

- Ability to prepare and lead a wide variety of programs and activities for school aged children and youth (i.e. arts and crafts, social, sports, games and out-trips)
- Create detailed lesson plans and camp itineraries by promoting a positive, healthy and safe environment for campers
- Qualifications: Must have previous camp experience and working in a leadership role with children in a variety of settings and hold a current First Aid and CPR level C, High Five Child Development Certificate.

- Duties include setting up and moving furniture and equipment at various recreation and culture facilities, carry out a variety of cleaning, minor maintenance and/or building service tasks.
- The ideal candidate should have completed Grade 8, preferably supplemented by the training related to the work, plus related experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience, such as knowledge of standard methods, and materials and equipment used in janitorial care and building maintenance.

- Performs janitorial work, recreation program support and security tasks in and around a recreation facility.
- The ideal candidate should have completed Grade 10, preferably supplemented by the training related to the work plus related experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Preference given to those completing a Building Service Worker Program and hold a valid Class 5 BC drivers license.

- Operates ice-making and resurfacing equipment; monitors refrigeration equipment; and performs a variety of semi-skilled building maintenance and minor repair tasks and routine janitorial duties.
- Qualifications: Knowledge of materials and equipment used in ice-making and refrigeration operations; valid Class 5 BC driver’s license, and access to a vehicle for NVRC business.

- Delivers excellent front line customer service to theatre patrons by providing information regarding our theatre programs, activities and community events.
- Work involves working with high customer volumes in a short span of time, providing support in the concession area by selling merchandise and reconciling cash at the end of the shift.
- Preferred candidates will have LCB Serving It Right certification to provide support in the concession and bar area. First Aid certificate will be an asset. Previous customer service training and experience is preferred along with cash handling and event and/or theatre experience.

A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License and a Pool Operator Level 1 and 2 certificates or equivalent. Building Service Worker certificate is an asset.
