Here are some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding employment with North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC).

How do I apply for a job with NVRC?

Visit our  Employment Portal and review the available positions. You can then apply directly to one of the available positions on the list or submit a general resume for future consideration.

How long do applications stay on file?

We keep all applications in our files for 12 months.

If I am interested in several positions with NVRC, do I need to submit an application for each posting?

Every posting is considered separately. If you are applying for several positions, a separate application needs to be submitted for each position. Please ensure the competition number is clearly identified on each application.

Who can apply to our jobs?

North Vancouver Recreation & Culture is an equal opportunity employer and we encourage applications from every sector of the population. Applicants must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident (landed immigrant), or hold a valid work permit.

Will you send me a confirmation that you have received my application?

Yes, you will receive a confirmation email once an application has been completed. If you are successful in securing an interview, our Human Resources department will contact you.

Can I be notified about a new job opportunity?

Our applicant tracking system offers the opportunity for you to create a personal Job Alert which will notify you by email when new employment opportunities arise in your selected field of interest.

What if the information on my resume, qualifications or address changes?

Login to your account on our Employment Portal. You can update your personal contact information under Account Settings or update your resume and qualifications under Your Documents. However to make changes after you have submitted an application to a job, you will have to notify our HR team at jobs@nvrc.ca. The HR team can update your application only if the job is still in 'Open' status and accepting applications.

How do I check the status of a position?

Login to your account on the Employment Portal. Information about the status of a position is listed beside the name of the position under Your Applications tab.

Can I email, mail, fax or personally deliver my application?
  • North Vancouver Recreation & Culture has implemented an online applicant tracking system for all resume submissions for specific posted positions or general applications.
  • Resumes will not be accepted by email, mail, fax or in person.
  • To ensure your information is in our database, please submit resumes, cover letters and documents through our online applicant tracking system.
  • NOTE:  After uploading your resume, please review the information for accuracy and ensure all required fields are completed. URL/links in lieu of the documents will not be accepted.
Does NVRC require employees to complete a criminal record search?

Yes. A criminal record search is required prior to commencing a position with North Vancouver Recreation & Culture.
