Here are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding employment with the North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission (NVRC).

How do I apply for a job with the North Vancouver Recreation and Culture Commission?

Review a list of available positions on our Employment Portal Hiredesk. You can then apply directly to one of the available positions on the list or submit a general resume for future consideration.

How long do applications stay on file?

We keep all applications in our files for twelve months.

If I am interested in several positions with the North Vancouver Recreation Commission, do I need to submit an application for each posting?

Every posting is considered separately. If you are applying for several positions, a separate application needs to be submitted for each position. Please ensure the competition number is clearly identified on each application.

Who can apply?

Will you send me a confirmation that you have received my application?

Yes, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you. If you are successful in securing an interview, our Human Resources department will contact you.

Can I be notified about a new job opportunity?

Our applicant tracking system offers the opportunity for you to create your personal Job Agent which will notify you by e-mail when new employment opportunities arise in your selected field of interest.

What if the information on my resume, qualifications or address changes?

Make the changes on your application and re-submit it.

How do I check the status of a position?

Information about the status of a position is listed in the employment portal beside the name of the position.

Can I e-mail, mail, fax or personally deliver my application?
  • The North Vancouver Recreation and Culture Commission has implemented an online applicant tracking system for all resume submissions for specific posted positions or general applications.
  • Resumes will not be accepted by e-mail, mail, fax or in person.
  • To ensure your information is in our database, please submit resumes, cover letters and documents through our online applicant tracking system.
  • NOTE:  After uploading your resume, please review the information for accuracy and ensure all required fields are completed. Formats accepted for resume upload include Microsoft Word for PC or Mac, Microsoft Works, Corel Wordperfect for PC or Mac, Lotus Word, Rich Text Format, HTML and PDF in text format. Please note that the following file formats are not supported for your resume: image PDFs or other image files (.bmp, .gif, .jpg, or .tif).
