Join us for Toddler & Me, a unique program for children and parents to learn and grow together!
What is Toddler & Me?
“Toddler & Me is about connecting children with their parents and with other children. It’s all about supporting early childhood development through play and building connections,” says Amy H., Toddler & Me instructor, who has been facilitating early years programs at NVRC for 20 years now. “In our classes, children learn to be social and interact with other kids in a positive way, to problem-solve and explore their surroundings in a safe atmosphere, with their parents by their sides.”
What activities will we do?
“We do a lot of different activities to suit the children’s interests and ages,” explains Amy. “We have toys and climbing equipment for playtime. We explore creativity with Play-Doh and arts and crafts—activities parents and children can work on together. And we always end with circle time and singing. The children love to sing! Sometimes the parents are shy, but eventually they will be brave and join in!”
A passionate instructor
When asked what her favorite thing about Toddler & Me is, Amy shares, “Just seeing the kids happy, interacting with each other, learning how to play positively in a safe way. And seeing the parents happy, too. You get to play a role in fostering that positive, early childhood experience for both children and their parents. It’s so rewarding.”
Locations, times and how to register
Toddler & Me classes are every day of the week from 9:30am-12pm:
• On Mondays & Thursdays at Memorial Community Recreation Centre*
• On Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays at Lynn Valley Community Recreation Centre
The cost is $5.25 per class (2025 rates).
