In 2004, The Friendship Gate was created through a community public art project where the garden gateway was created with relief ceramic tiles informed by the colourful native plants and dense vegetation that surrounds it.  

In 2024, it was relocated to Alder Community Garden.   This garden is located along the Spirit Trail  adjacent to the grain elevators.   Take a moment to to sit on the friendship bench, look at the city view and maybe chat with a local gardener.
