Located near the Bewicke Avenue access to the Spirit Trail, is a five ton basalt stone sculpture entitled Time In Memorial And Beyond carved by local artist Xwalacktun. This giant land marker features a thunderbird and an assortment of carved petroglyph images that reference the land’s ancestral history and present day life.

About the artist:
Xwalacktun is a Coast Salish artist of Squamish and Kwakwak’wakw ancestry. He creates native art with a connection to the past, present and future like his ancestors did. He is a sought after artist that has received commissions from, BC Hydro, University of Victoria First People’s House, 2010 Olympics and the Audain Art Museum in Whistler.
