North Vancouver Spirit Trail Public Art

The District of North Vancouver Public Art Program, coordinated through the North Vancouver Arts Office is currently accepting Expressions of Interest from artists or artist teams to create and install a public artwork on the 'western' section of the North Vancouver Spirit Trail.

The goal of this public art project is to create an inventive landmark feature that will serve as a “must see” destination point along the Spirit Trail. The site selected for the artwork is situated at a juncture between two roadways, industrial lands and natural parkland, providing a perfect convergence point for the placement of a vertical element.

    Deliver an aesthetically significant impact at the corner of 1st Street and Welsh Ave;
  • Provide a direct correlation with at least one unique site specific element;
  • Provide ongoing interest for regular commuters;
  • Be sensitive to the District of North Vancouver’s goals for creating sustainable design.
