This course is the perfect start to woodworking for people who want to develop their skills for furniture making. While moderately demanding this course ideal for complete beginners and even skilled woodworkers with rusty skills. This is a fixed curriculum course.
A wide range of topics are covered as follows: Introduction to lumber classification, grain direction and moisture related movement. Milling using Mitre Saw, Jointer, Planer and Table saw. Resawing using the bandsaw. Joinery using the Table saw, Router table and Drill press. Best practices in joinery layout and application of project’s spatial reference system. Best practices in assembly. Materials supplied.
After completion of this course, you will have completed the admission requirements to use the Studio for Drop-in sessions.
