Chesterfield is a neighbourhood in transition. While it has becoming more modern and livable, it is still part of the strong history of the waterfront of Lonsdale. Voyage refers to the nearby industrial past and reminds that the water is nearby. The metal sphere contains references to an astrolab, a globe criss-crossed by lines of travel, or perhaps a child's toy. Suspended within the sphere is an iconic copper vessel, poised in space, charting a path of discovery.

About the artists:
Jacqueline Metz and Nancy Chew are visual artists who started working collaboratively in 1997. Nancy's background is drawing, print-making, curating and teaching while Jacqueline's is photography, archeaology and literature.
