The North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission and the District of North Vancouver are seeking an artist or artist team to design and fabricate literary themed public artwork for placement at the front entrance of the Capilano Library, in Edgemont Village.
The library’s vision is to “Inspire learning, discovery, creativity and collaboration in the District of North Vancouver.”
It is envisioned that this public art project will:
- Create a socially engaging public artwork that sparks conversation among library patrons;
- Convey the sense of magic and imagination that is experienced in the pages of a good book;
- Invite personal interaction as a seating element and/or photo op.
This Public Art opportunity invites expressions of interest from Canadian professional or emerging artists that demonstrate the creative expertise and technical ability to realize a public art project from design through to installation.
