Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre - Front Entrance

Status
Closed

The North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission and City of North Vancouver are inviting Expressions of Interest from professional artists and artist teams working in the public art realm, to create original site-specific public artwork(s) associated with the front entrance area for the soon to be built new Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre.

With a distinctively West Coast architectural style, the new Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre (HJCRC) seeks to embody the character of the community while reconciling large-scale program elements, a steeply sloping site, the surrounding urban context and complex circulation demands. The new state-of-the-art facility will deliver exceptional experiences and programs for community members that foster individual and collective wellness.

This public art opportunity focuses on the front entrance area of the new HJCRC facility. The selected artwork has the potential to be located either as an exterior or an interior installation, as there are several exciting possibilities for art placement.

Please carefully read the full EOI (attached) to learn more about the facility and the thematic framework for this project.
