Mooring in Deep Cove is only allowed at one of the four available mooring buoys.
If you'd like to moor in Deep Cove overnight, you need a Designated Anchorage Area (DAA) permit.
With a DAA permit, you can moor your boat to one of the four buoys in the cove for up to 72 hours within a one-month period. The cost is calculated per day, and is based on the length of your boat ($1.20 per foot to a maximum of 40 feet in length).

Picnic Shelter
Nestled in the wooded tranquility of Murdo Frazer Park, the picnic shelter offers a peaceful setting for gatherings just steps away from the natural beauty North Vancouver is known for. Surrounded by mature forest and situated between the Murdo Frazer sport courts and the Murdo Frazer Pitch and Putt Golf Course, the shelter provides easy access to the park’s open green spaces, walking trails, and the duck pond. Conveniently located off Woods Drive, the shelter is accessed via a cement pathway from the parking lot and within reach of washroom facilities. The shelter has one 14ft table with wheelchair seating access.
Located in the Deep Cove area on the eastern edge of the District, this compact park is nestled directly in front of Deep Cove and features a stunning view of the Deep Cove Yacht Club and Indian Arm. This park is not as secluded as the Deep Cove Park but has more open green space, beach access, and is a bit closer to the hustle and bustle of the Deep Cove waterfront. The Panorama Park picnic shelter is adjacent to the washrooms and a short walk from the playground. Parking is available in the parking lots off Panorama Dr, from which it is only a short walk to the picnic shelter.
Leave the bustle of Marine Drive and escape into a lush, green ravine that frames the salmon-bearing Mackay Creek. Bordering the western edge of the City, Heywood Park is the City’s second largest park and one of its most natural. The Heywood Park picnic shelter was recently constructed in the Spring of 2023 and is located within close proximity to the playground, washrooms, green space, and numerous nature trails that meander through the forest. The picnic shelter is located adject to the parking lot which is accessed off Hamilton Ave.
Located in the Grand Boulevard neighbourhood of the City, Ray Perrault Park covers a full City block and includes several facilities for organized sports such as courts for tennis, basketball, and bocce, plus playground and picnic areas. Set against a beautiful North Shore Mountain backdrop, the park is located across the street from Grand Boulevard Park. The Ray Perrault Park picnic shelter was recently constructed in the Spring of 2023 and is located directly beside the playground and washrooms. Parking is available in the parking lot off E 13th St or off of Moody Ave.
Located in the Lynn Valley area of the District, Lynn Canyon Park offers 250 hectares of west coast rain forest with scenic canyons, pools, and creeks to explore. This stunning park is home to the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge which is suspended 50 metres above the creek below. The large Lynn Canyon picnic shelter is located in the forested area in the middle of the Park Rd. loop and is in close proximity to the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre, and Lynn Canyon Café. Please note that pay parking is in effect at this park and that this shelter is only available for rental from September to June and is not available during July and August.

Located in the Lower Lynn area of the District, Bridgman Park lies next to Lynn Creek and plays an important role in providing diverse park amenities including forested trails, playgrounds, picnic area, and open grass areas for neighbourhood and District residents. The Bridgman Park picnic shelter is located adjacent to the park’s parking lot and is within close proximity to the washrooms and playground area. The parking lot is accessed off Keith Rd between Lynnmouth Ave and Mountain Hwy.
** Whey-Ah-Wichen/Cates Park will be undergoing a series of park improvements, so the picnic shelter is unavailable for rentals starting July 28, 2025 for the duration of construction **
Located in the Dollarton area of the District, this seaside park has a variety of amenities, including 6km of waterfront trails, playgrounds, picnic shelter, beaches, tennis courts, and a year-round boat launch. The Cates Park picnic shelter is located next to the boat launch, has beach access, and is a short walk away from the playground and washrooms. The parking lot is accessed off Dollarton Hwy and has multiple small parking lots, the closest of which to the shelter can be found just after the paid boat launch parking lot.

Located in the Upper Lonsdale/Lynn Valley area of the District, Princess Park is nestled in a residential area and features tennis courts, playgrounds, a picnic shelter, and forested walking trails that make up a portion of the 14km walking trail loop called the Lynn Valley Link. The Princess Park picnic shelter is located within close proximity to a fully fenced children’s playground and is only a short walk from the washrooms and parking lot. The parking lot can be accessed off Princess Ave.
