A public art call will generally include project details, location, eligibility guidelines, budget and deadlines.

The District of North Vancouver Public Art Program, in partnership with Guildford Brooke Estates invites creative professionals interested in providing a site specific, functional, public art project on Mt Seymour Parkway. The goal of this public art project is to create an inventive functional fencing feature that will serve both as a bike lane barrier separating the cyclists from vehicle traffic and a public artwork that is distinctive and meaningful for area residents. The District of North Vancouver Public Art Program, coordinated through the North Vancouver Arts Office is currently accepting Expressions of Interest from artists or artist teams to create and install a public artwork on the 'western' section of the North Vancouver Spirit Trail.

The goal of this public art project is to create an inventive landmark feature that will serve as a “must see” destination point along the Spirit Trail. The site selected for the artwork is situated at a juncture between two roadways, industrial lands and natural parkland, providing a perfect convergence point for the placement of a vertical element.

Anticipated date for installation of selected artwork is 2013.

The public artwork seeks to artistically address vandalism issues the City is encountering at the site.
