Explore the world of clay and creativity with pottery at NVRC!
We offer programs for all ages and abilities out of our pottery studios at the Delbrook Community Recreation Centre and Parkgate Community Centre, as well as the art studio at Memorial Community Recreation Centre.
NVRC’s pottery programming and studios offer opportunities to learn and explore the craft, art and practice of pottery through classes, workshops, and independent studio time for potters able to work independently in the studio. Participants come from different artistic backgrounds and learn from our professional instructors and each other in their work with clay. We cultivate a respectful, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where we support the learning, development and creative growth of participants.
We hope and expect individuals will feel a responsibility to contribute to making our studios a special place for potters to learn and practice their skills, find inspiration, develop styles and techniques, and express creativity in clay.

Seasonal pass for independent studio time
NVRC offers pottery studio seasonal passes at Delbrook Community Recreation Centre and Parkgate Community Centre. Seasonal passes are for people with appropriate levels of NVRC pottery experience who want to work on their own projects in a positive, relaxed and non-instructional environment.
Seasonal passes are not suitable for production potters. Production limits and firing deadlines will apply, and clay must be purchased through NVRC. More information is provided in the sections below.

2025 pottery studio changes
In July 2025, NVRC changed to a new model for independent studio time at the Delbrook and Parkgate pottery studios. The primary change was a transition from a membership model—which had primarily served the same people year after year—to a seasonal passholder model. The pottery studio seasonal pass provides all community members with appropriate levels of NVRC pottery an equal opportunity to purchase a pass four times per year. Fairness and equal access were the primary reasons for the change, reflecting NVRC’s mandate as a public sector organization.
