Explore the world of clay and creativity with Pottery at NVRC. We offer programs for all ages at our two pottery studios, plus we have special studio memberships plans.

Pottery Studio Time

The pottery studios at Parkgate Community Centre and Delbrook & Memorial Community Recreation Centres are open.

Studio time is available to customers who have experience in the studio and have held a membership in 2020 or 2021. These registrations are being done by phone to allow NVRC staff to confirm customers’ studio experience. 

Advance Registration

Registration will take place at 9:00am each Monday for the following week.

Please call 604-987-7529 to have your membership verified and registration processed. If you hold a new 2020 Pottery Membership you can register online.

Current Pricing and Memberships

NVRC is pleased to introduce an updated Pottery Studio Membership, including access to Parkgate or Delbrook pottery studio times. Pottery Memberships are priced monthly and can be purchased in increments of 1 to 12 months.

Pottery Programs

Pottery programs for all ages and levels are being offered at Parkgate, Delbrook, and Harry Jerome Centres and can take place in the Arts & Crafts room, Art Studios, Pottery Studios, and Cap room depending on space requirements. View programs online.

Safety Measures

The number of person in the studios and programs is limited to allow physical distancing. Everyone should maintain physical distancing of 2m and clean equipment before and after use. Please refrain from bringing in food and drink into the studio.

Delbrook Pottery Studio

This well-equipped pottery facility has a variety of membership options and instructional programs for all ages from early years to adults.

Lessons are offered for all abilities; beginner to advanced. Experienced instructors help participants explore new mediums, refine their skills and express themselves through art. The Pottery Studio equipment includes wheels, kilns, slab rollers, extruder and glazes. Clay is available for purchase from the Delbrook Front Office.

Membership opportunities

For those who want to enjoy the freedom of working on their own projects in a positive, relaxed, and non-instructional environment, a number of Pottery Studio membership options are available for individuals who have recently completed a Delbrook pottery class and orientation. Membership is currently full. Please call 604-983-6530 to be added to the waiting list.

Members must pre-register for studio times. Registration is at 9:00am on Mondays for the following Monday-Sunday.

Parkgate Pottery Studio

This bright and spacious studio includes both an indoor and outdoor workspace. Parkgate offers a number of pottery programs for all ages from school-aged children and youth to adults. Specially designed programs teach the basic methods of hand building as well as glazing. Everyone has lots of fun getting their hands dirty while creating imaginative and functional pieces. A studio membership is available for those that want to create at their own pace in a friendly and encouraging environment.

Membership Opportunities

Parkgate offers a Pottery Studio membership and studio drop-in options. Prospective members are required to take a Pottery Studio Orientation prior to taking out a membership. Contact Liz DeBeer, Pottery Studio Supervisor, to schedule an appointment at 604-983-6367, or you can email Liz.

Glazing and firing costs are included in membership fees. Clay must be purchased separately. Before registering, please book your orientation with the Pottery Studio Manager. Memberships may be limited due to space availability.
