OR

Visit us

Meet with our staff at our Community Centre front desks or in one of our 6 fitness centres.  They’ll answer your questions and introduce you to our facilities and our range of fitness programs, memberships and services for beginners.  They’ll also show you our seasonal Leisure Guide and website so you can browse through our programs and services and find some activities you are interested in.

Step 2 - Book a consultation or register for a program

Step 2

Book a fitness centre orientation (it’s free for fitness members or just pay the drop-in rate) or Get Started Consultation

Or

Decide on a Drop-In Beginner Fitness Class to try

View our Drop-In Fitness Class schedule and look for the Level 1 Easy Classes.  We offer both land and water based classes that can ease you into fitness.

Or

Register for a beginner program in one of our many registered fitness programs.

You can choose the program you are most interested in whether it’s a beginner walking program, yoga, dance fitness, zumba, spin cycling or one of our many strength and conditioning programs.

Step 3 - Try us out

Attend the orientation, drop-in class, or registered program.

When you get there, introduce yourself to the instructor and let them know it's your first time. They’ll be happy to welcome you and let you know what to expect from the activity.  Also, let them know your goals.  You may just want to participate in an easy way at the back so you can become familiarized with how the class/program works.  Once the class or program is over, talk to the instructor again and ask any questions you may have. And don’t stop there, we offer over 150 drop-in fitness classes each week including aquafit in the pool.   Make sure you try at least two or three classes to find the ones you enjoy the most.

Step 4 - Go back for a second time

Come back and try the class or program again.

We know it takes time to make positive behaviour changes and adopt a new routine.   That’s why it’s important to commit to coming back again.  Maybe it’s only once a week with the goal of building up to two or three times per week as you become familiar with your new routine.  Research has proven it takes 3 months of practicing a new behaviour before it becomes a natural thing to do.

AND

Invest in Personal Training

It can be challenging in the beginning to stick with a new fitness routine. You don’t have to do it alone.  Our fitness health & wellness advisors are all certified personal trainers who can help you create the right workout for you and gently guide you through it.   Part coach, part motivator, our personal trainers can help maximize your workout, teach you the right way to work out and help add variety to your workout.  In addition to one-on-one personal training, we offer Friends and Families in Training (FIT) where you can choose between semi-private or small group training. Get together with up to 4 of your friends or family members, choose the times you want to work out, and we'll provide the trainer.  Learn more about personal training services.

Do you face financial Barriers?
